I'm a firm believer in visiting places in winter, when the weather is cool, many touristy things are closed and therefore only those who truely want to experience a place dare go. This scene is in the Fells of the Lakes District in the midst of winter. The silent noises of the forest reveal nature’s quiet symphony. Rustling leaves, distant bird calls, and the soft murmur of a hidden stream blend into tranquil harmony. These subtle sounds evoke a sense of stillness, inviting reflection amidst the timeless beauty of the fells. The colours were extraordinary. Having never seen these colours in my life it was hard to believe they were real. In the painting I tried to capture the serenity and the "silent noises" of the forest.
