Rainy Days in Fronsac

A rainy day in Fronsac, a village in the Aquitaine region of southern France. my husband's ancestor was Compte de Fronsac...no connections now. Admittedly it was winter and lightly raining so the place was deserted. We saw nobody! The village is surrounded by well known vineyards, all bare at this time. Yet the charm was palpable in flickering lights behind curtained windows, reflections in puddles and an occasional bird flittering, causing gentle showers of water from their hiding spots in the trees and bushes. I could picture this sweet village in its full glory in summer, with the vineyards full and a buzz of business. so as empty as it seemed, I could feel the life hidden and had to capture the scene on canvas to show it's not forgotten in the down times.
